RivrVue
Naturally Reared and Bred to the Standard
Since 1996, RivrVue has been home to the Bouvier. Moses, our first Bouvier, was not actually supposed to be our dog. My daughter fell in love with the breed while still living with us. When it was time to go to college, however, Moses could not attend with her. And, so the story begins.

Moses became the first show dog at RivrVue. He earned his AKC Championship (Ch.) and just as easily obtained his AKC Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) title. Officially, he is

Ch. Tekhoe’s Moses Heaven Sent, CGC, but he is simply "Mo" to us. Moses was bred by Elly and the late Kenny Rensick who own Tekhoe’s Kennel in Iowa. While he continues to be a part of our home and the active daily routine of RivrVue, his main responsibility is to be playmate to the rest of the crew and also to be the official greeter at RivrVue. Much to our sadness Moses crossed the rainbow bridge Nov. 17, 2008.

The year after Moses became officially ours, we decided to purchase another Bouvier as a companion. At the time, he was living with three Miniature Schnauzers who thought he was a chew toy, but who found they were too small to play his games.

After careful research, we purchased Vee Vee; Am/Can Ch Quiches Vim N Vigor, CGC. Vee Vee was bred by Quiche Kennels which was owned by the late Christine Paquette and her daughters, Elaine and Louise. Quiche Kennels continues to be owned and operated by Elaine and Lousie Paquette and is located in Maidstone, Ontario, Canada.

VeeVee has been my teacher. She is a high energy dog with a sharp intelligence. I have to be on my toes to stay a step ahead of her. I find myself being herded up and down the stairs, and she often makes an attempt (as Bouvier bitches have a tendency to do) to take charge of RivrVue. But, together we were able to earn her AKC Championship.

The first time in the show ring she was dubbed the “Princess” by the judge and as she has matured, the title of “Queen” seems equally as appropriate. She continues to reign sovereign here at RivrVue. Over the years, she has worked hard to teach me the more subtle elements of dog training. Our relationship of teacher and student continues today.

In 1998, Vee Vee and Moses produced a litter of puppies. All were spayed and neutered and placed in pet/companion homes. I keep in touch with them and get to see a number of them every so often.

Our next two Bouviers came from Donlee Kennels in Orange County, California, owned by Rick and Reba Donelly. .Lou is Ch. Donlee Legacy of IronEyes, gorgeous fawn boy who is our gentle giant and number one puppy babysitter. He loves children above all else and ensures that the peace is maintained.

At the National Specialty in St. Louis, MO, in 1998, Lou won Best Junior Puppy in the Futurity. In 1999, Lou and I took a Group I placement at one of our favorite shows on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was only 16 mos old, and this was my first Group I win. What a thrill! He and I went on to take multiple group placements.

The following year, the urge to hear the pitter patter of little feet struck again. This time we went back to Quiche in Canada to purchase Ch Quiche’s XTra Special Addition who is our beloved Addi.

Addi is a fawn like Lou. I must tell you that having fawns mixed in with the dark brindle Bouviers certainly makes for better picture taking

Leevy, American/Canadian/Dutch/International Ch. Le Petite Astra Coline, who is Addi’s sire was imported from Holland by the Quiche Kennel. Leevy also has the working title of IPO I and comes from a strong line of working dogs. These dogs have great heart and strength of character. Because of their high drive, they are not for everyone as they can be very determined and challenging. Here again, what Addi brings from her background has taught me much. She has been a wonderful teacher and a very loving companion.

We went back to California for our next boy. He is Ch. Donlee Broadway Joe. At RivrVue, he is Joe and is almost solid black. His high energy and athletic abilities have added another chapter to my learning. Figuring out how to channel his energy in a positive way has taught me to think outside the box. Joe greatest gift to me has been the opportunity to learn and practice patience. He is truly an exceptional boy.

Joe and Addi co-produced a litter in 2002. From this litter, we have Ch.RivrVue Lites of Broadway, DeLite. She is as her name implies, DE-LITEFUL!!!! We started calling her "DeLite" as she was truly the delightful puppy.  Her show career started when she was about a year old.  Toward the end of her first year, I fell and broke my arm bringing her career to a screeching halt.  She reentered competition aqs a three year old, and she easily completed the requirements for a championship.  She was the only one in her litter to be shown.

DeLite taught me what it means to love someone enough to let to them go.  I am pleased to report that she now lives with our dear friends in South Carolina where she shares the spotlight with her one and only housemate.DeLite is a very loving, loyal, and patient girl whose memory still brings joy to my    heart and a smile to my face.

In 2004, we repeated this breeding and from this exceptional litter we have Ch. RivrVue The Man In Black "Cash". "He was the first puppy in the litter to achieve his Championship, but not the last. Cash finished at only 10 months of age with limited showing capturing four Major wins.

Cash is here at RivrVue, spending his time relaxing, playing ball. He is three years old and quite "The Man" compared to this picture where he is a ten month old puppy.

We have completed all of his OFA examinations, and he passed those with flying colors.  Cash will be standing at Stud here at RivrVue.  He graciously invites all those beauties who have had their health checks to take their place in line.

This beautiful girl is Ch. RivrVue Peeches N Cream.  Around here she is known as "PEECHes".  She is my Southern Belle; some days she is just as sweet as a ripe peach, and then on others, she is just a little tart.  That sweet and happy nature captured the love of my Husband and the attention of many.

When she was a puppy, a handler friend of mine dubbed her 'one flashy bitch.'  Maybe that was coming from the tart part???  In July, 2005, she was shown at the Cascade Bouvier Regional Specialty held in Portland, Oregon.  At the Specialty this "one flashy bitch" grabbed "Best of Winners" and " Best Puppy in the Sweepstakes".  She finished her Championship at the Specialty."

"Chloe " Ch. RivrVue Desert Song of KJO , left RivrVue to live in California when she was nine weeks old. . Because her owner understood the importance of basic obedience training, they attended several obedience courses.  In addition, Chloe was well socialized to people and other dogs.  After about a year, her caretaker developed some health problems, and together we decided that it would be best for Chloe to return to RivrVue.

Around here, she is known as “Glowin’ Chlo.”  At her first competition in June 2005, Chloe captured a Four Point Major.  A few months later, she had completed the requirements for her championship, finishing in November of 2005.  Chloe was the sixth puppy in her litter to become an AKC Champion.

Chloe is an outgoing, social, and confident Bouvier girl. She has taught me the fine art of ball playing.  Until she returned to RivrVue to teach me this art, I never knew that ball playing had so many different forms.   Chloe has an excellent Bouvier temperament with a great heart.  Her loyalty and willingness to give her all is a joy to behold.

"Rivr " is  our lovely young bitch that we aquired
